This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the District of Squamish (the “District”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Jimmy-Jimmy (Judd) Slough Enhancement Culvert, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”). This project consists of installing a 2400 mm x 900 mm concrete box culvert across the existing dike at a depth of approximately 7 m below the dike crest. The culvert features headwalls and access roads at the inlet and outlet, and a 3600 mm x 1500 mm precast sluice gate chamber constructed within the dike, complete with the installation of Owner supplied motorized sluice gates. Work will include a control panel and generator for the sluice gates located on the dike crest, and instrumentation including pressure transducers for measuring the water level in the Squamish River, and ultrasonic transducer for measuring the water level in Judd Slough, and a rain gauge. The Contractor will be responsible for developing a plan to maintain flood protection during construction, isolate the work from flows in the Squamish River and Judd Slough, and phase construction to minimize risk to the dike an allow for construction within dry periods with low river levels. |
