As a Community Resiliency Investment (CRI) Program Recipient Agreement holder, the District of Squamish invites proposals to implement fuel treatments to reduce hazardous fuels and fire behaviour adjacent to the community. One or more contracts will be awarded for the requested work. A contract to implement the Airport unit is subject to the securing of CRI funding for this unit.

A total of 14.1 ha in two separate units has been identified for treatment as summarized in Table 1 and illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 below. The objective of this project is to reduce the fuel loading and fire hazard in moderate to high hazard interface areas which are constrained by multiple values and objectives. The proposed treatments involve hazard tree removal, thinning from below, pruning, brushing, surface fuel reduction and debris disposal (pile burning, chipping, and/or hauling).
