Description: 

The District of Squamish completed an Active Transportation Plan in 2016 that guides the development of the District’s cycling and pedestrian networks. Main Street and Third Avenue in downtown Squamish were identified as future protected bike routes and require adequate space for pedestrians. The District is gradually working to build new bike and pedestrian routes through new development projects and capital projects. 

The overall objective of this project is to develop preliminary designs and cost estimates that will inform future capital and development projects. The designs will also inform the development of the District’s Downtown Streetscape Standards. A single preliminary design is required for:

  • Main Street from Cleveland Ave to Third Avenue
  • Third Avenue from Bailey Street to Pemberton Avenue
  • Third Avenue from Main Street to Vancouver Street
