| Description: |
This Request for Supplier Qualifications (“RFSQ”) is an invitation by the District of Squamish (the “District”) to prospective respondents to qualify for eligibility to provide Paradise Valley Bailey Bridge Abutment Construction as further described in Section A of the RFSQ Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). The Paradise Valley Bailey Bridge serves as the sole road access to residences in Paradise Valley, approximately 17km north of downtown Squamish. The bridge was constructed in the 1980’s and the District’s retained structural engineering consultant (WSP Canada Inc.) found that the bridge’s existing crib abutment walls are deteriorating and recommended that both abutments be repaired to minimize the risk of failure. WSP has now completed engineering analysis and prepared a design for repair of the abutments. The purpose of this RFSQ is to establish a shortlist of up to three (3) qualified contractors who will be invited to participate in an invitational second-stage competitive process. Further details on the second-stage competitive process will be provided to shortlisted contractors only, following conclusion of this RFSQ. The value of the construction project is estimated to be approximately $1.2M. Construction work is anticipated to start in late-summer 2026 and finished in early-fall 2026. |
