The District of Squamish Public Works Department and Wastewater Treatment Plant is seeking 
proposals from qualified applicants to provide equipment supply and installation services as they 
relate to the following deliverables:

Deliverable No. 1 - Removal and replacement of two (2) positive displacement thickened waste 
activated sludge pumps

o  Preference may be given to rotary lobe style pumps
o  Material to be pumped has a solids content of 2 to 4% by weight
o  Respondents must quote two (2) pump flow rating options:
▪     132 US gallons per minute (usgpm) each
▪     264 US gallons per minute (usgpm) each
o  Total Dynamic Head (TDH) must be no less than 30 feet
o  Horsepower  (Hp)  must  be  no  less  than  5  hp  unless  appropriate  rationale  for 
downsizing is provided
o  Positive displacement pump design must include a pressure relief mechanism in order to protect 
personnel, pump mechanism and associated infrastructure and facilities from damage that may occur 
due to a high-pressure event

Deliverable No. 2 - Removal and replacement of two (2) Return Activated Sludge (RAS) pumps

o  635 US gallons per minute (usgpm) minimum each
o  Total Dynamic Head (TDH) must be no less than 41 feet
o  Horsepower  (Hp)  must  be  no  less  than  15  hp  unless  appropriate  rationale  for 
downsizing is provided
o  Alternate pump styles will be considered (e.g. dry mounted submersible)
Deliverable No. 3 - Removal and replacement of one (1) scum pump

o  150 US gallons per minute (usgpm) minimum
o  Total Dynamic Head (TDH) must be no less than 10 feet
o  Horsepower (Hp) rating must be no less than 3 hp unless appropriate rationale for downsizing is 
provided
o  Alternate pump styles will be considered (e.g. dry mounted submersible) Deliverable No. 4 - 
Check valve and knife gate valve removal, replacement and upgrade:
o  Removal and replacement of three (3) 300mm (12”) check valves
o  Removal and replacement of three (3) 300mm (12”) knife gate valves
o  Demo of three (3) existing concrete valve supports
o  Installation of three (3) new valve supports
o  Supply and installation of three (3) additional 300mm (12”) knife gate valves
o  Supply and installation of new stainless steel hardware as necessary
